My name is Tyler Chin, and I am here to help manufacturers save money by replacing metal parts with plastic ones.
Specifically, I help OEMs and Injection Molders replace die-cast metal components in their products with injection molded parts using high performance nylon, delivering an average of 30% total cost savings.
But aren’t Plastics Weak?
Depends on what you mean by weak. Watch as EMS Grivory is used in a threaded bushing application to lift up a car. This bushing has a pullout force that could lift 2.95 tons, which is enough to lift an F-150.
The threads on this bushing are molded in, meaning it did not requrire a metal threaded insert and it does not need secondary operations to create the threads. Both of these would have extra costs, which we were able to eliminate.
For reference, the world’s strongest man can only lift half a ton. That’s only a sixth of an F-150.
